Houjicha or Hōjicha is a type of Japanese green tea. Unlike other Japanese green teas, Hōjicha goes through a roasting process. This process gives the Hōjicha a smooth and mellow roasted flavour.  Hōjicha is particularly low in caffeine and is a popular tea served during/after meals.
